Benevolent Fund

Helping Our Community, When It Matters Most.

The Rainbow Veterans of Canada Benevolent Fund provides short-term financial assistance to help fellow veterans and community members through unexpected challenges. Created in the spirit of community and guided by a simple principle: no judgment.

Community Helping Community

Rooted in the principle of community helping community, the Rainbow Veterans of Canada Benevolent Fund provides short-term financial assistance to members facing unexpected hardship. For veterans whose lives have been shaped by adversity or trauma, an essential expense can create an immediate strain. The Benevolent Fund offers a practical bridge through difficult circumstances, delivered with dignity and without judgement. A Benevolent Fund Committee administers assistance on behalf of the RVC Board. Membership dues allocated to the Fund and direct donations are held in a restricted account and used exclusively for member assistance, never for RVC operating expenses. Every contribution strengthens the Fund and expands its ability to support fellow veterans when they need it most.

When life takes an unforeseen turn, the Benevolent Fund offers a lifeline.

Helping Our Community

The Rainbow Veterans of Canada Benevolent Fund was created in the spirit of community. It helps the community and is guided by a simple principle: no judgement.

Rainbow Veterans of Canada Benevolent Fund helping the LGBTQ community.

Many members of our community have experienced adversity, trauma, and unexpected hardship. When life takes an unforeseen turn, the Benevolent Fund provides short-term financial assistance to help bridge the gap and offer a lifeline when it is needed most.

The Fund is administered by the Benevolent Fund Committee on behalf of the Rainbow Veterans of Canada’s Board. We deposit every dollar received through membership dues designated for the Fund and direct donations into a restricted account used exclusively for Benevolent Fund assistance. None of these funds are used for RVC operating expenses.

As the Fund grows, so does our ability to help more members and provide greater assistance. The program’s strength depends on all of us. By supporting the Fund, you are helping fellow veterans and community members through difficult times—and if you ever find yourself in need, the community will be there for you.

The Benevolent Fund is intended to help with unexpected, essential expenses, such as groceries, home heating, emergency travel to an ill family member, or insurance deductibles needed to restore transportation after an accident. It is not intended to pay personal debts, build savings, or fund activities that fall outside the Fund’s purpose. Applicants are encouraged to contribute toward resolving their situation wherever possible.
