Volunteer with Us
Seeking Volunteers
In March 2019, the Rainbow Veterans of Canada (RVC) organization was created. The RVC is a grassroots, volunteer-run, non-profit organization for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) veterans who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and two spirits (2SLGBTQ+). The “Served with Pride” Facebook page will continue its current purpose for Purge survivors. However, Rainbow Veterans Canada will endeavour to reach a broader audience. As we grow, we are seeking people interested in volunteering on our committees.
The committees seeking volunteers are:
Fund Development Committee
The Fund Development Committee assists RVC in the planning, coordination, and implementation of all fundraising activities in support of its programs, projects, and activities.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee will develop, implement and manage RVC’s membership operations.
Social Media Committee
The Social Media Committee will strengthen and grow RVC’s online presence and sense of community through active community and stakeholder engagement, content contributions, mediation, and content guidance.
Education and Community Outreach Committee
The Education and Community Outreach Committee works to seek: positions of influence in key organizations; opportunities to educate Canadians about the LGBT Purge; and the contributions of CAF Veterans who identify as 2SLGBTQ+ have made to the defense and security of Canada.
Special Events Committee
The Special Events Committee will plan and conduct special events on behalf of RVC, for example, Remembrance Day events.
If you are interested in volunteering on a specific committee or are interested in helping out in the future, please email us with your name, contact info, and the committee or role you are interested into info@rainbowveterans.ca.
